So for those you do not know me let me introduce myself:

My name is Courtney. I am 21 and I am:

• A Music lover <3
• Someone who is taken advantaged of easily.
• Someone who stands up for herself and friends
• A HUGE Yankees Fan
• Love the Ohio State Football Team
• Jack Johnson is my all time mellow guy! I would love to chill with him and just listen to him jam!
• I am only truly happy when I am near the ocean

What we tend to forget.

Somtime I forget that I am not invincible. No one is infact, some if us only pretend we are. I find it funny when there are some people who believe that they are the best in their world but in reality they’re not.

Example: My roommate’s parents were intown for the weekend and they came to all of the games for the weekend. I have come to learn from this weekend and weekends past is this: This is one passionate soccer family. but I love them anyways

Back to the game. There is a player that my roommate’s mother has a little tiff with another player on her daughter’s team. This player coming into the season is the best of the best. But she has a little bit of ego problem; and when I mean a little I mean BIG one. with that said my roomate’s mother is very keen on getting her point across that she does not like this player. I have to agree with her. If you saw how this player was during the game you would understand why this girl needs to be kicked in the butt. She thinks that if the ball doesn’t come to her then she has no need to move. Wrong move…this is the reason why your team lost tonight. Yuppers. I have some choice words for her but I am going to keep those to mysef. They don’t need to be put on blast.

But other than that, I have had a chill Sunday. Soccer games, Japanese food for lunch, and  Ice Cream and watching the VMA’s with my roommate later. It’s been a pretty good weekend and it sucks that I have school in the morning and it starts with Lab bright and early.

Where were you?

So today I went to work and I came across a customer who quite frankly made me feel like an ass. I found it odd at first when I saw her walk in and she was decorated like an American Flag. I am not kidding,  AN AMERICAN FLAG! So after I took her order I complimented her on her attire. This is the the conversation that followed:

Me: I am liking the outfit

Customer: Well you should, its only one of the most important days in America’s History

Me: Really?!

Customer: Yes, don’t you know what today is?

Me: Yeah… its September…..11th. oh

Customer: Yeah, I feel that today needs to be a national holiday, all flags should be at half-staff and businesses should be close.

Me: Well, I agree but I think America shouldn’t come to a  stand still, those people who died would have wanted us to continue with our lives.

Customer:  Well let me guess, you are one of those people, who thinks we should get out of the war, huh?

Me: I don’t agree with the war but it is not my decision

Customer: well you should stick with the winning side. *points to her shirt* We are fighting for 3,000 people

Me: and yet we killed over 100,000 people.

Customer: That’s the price for YOUR freedom.

After this conversation, I felt a like I was slapped across my face. Not only did this customer call me ‘un-american’ for not supporting the war, but I felt like an idiot because I forgot what today was. I mean it was nine years ago but its it still fresh in many people’s mind. It made me realize that there are some people who are still extremly upset that extremeist violated. Yet we as americans came out stronger than ever. We should come together everyday as one.

I’m back!

Well, it’s been almost 2 years since my last blog on this website and I must say I still like I am super new to this. But what can one person say when they have had the year like I did. But I promise that I will keep better care and continuously update this blog when I feel is necessary.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

I do mean what I say in the title…It is the most wonderful time of the year! FINALS (you really didn’t think I was going to talk about Christmas, HA)! I love watching those who think they are smart make a fool of themselves by not studying and practically failing the class. Not Me. So far this week I have been staying up into the late hours working on all of my classes, making sure I know what I am doing! That’s dedication. I can rest when I go home, to my own bed and be with my friends. I can party when I am in Wilmington (the real party capital of N. Carolina)

With the end of the Semester comes a new question that I must answer. What to o about this blog. I was never a huge blogger before my  Digital Media class but now, I can’t say that I am a pro at it, or that I will be able to keep up with it while I am home. But I can try. No harm in trying and keeping you the faithful reader interested with what I have to say! Until then, I will keep posting Carolina(and GWU) basketball scores and put up some recommendations about my favorite songs and bands!

The Whitest Kids You Know

For sometime now, I have been a huge fan of this comedy group. They are really raunchy but they are totally worth the vulgar language and questionable antics… After a couple of runs at it I am sure you will like this group as well.. The Whitest Kids You Know.  This group is hilarious! The leader of the group is politically crazy and will do anything to get the viewers to “kill the president” or against african americans. But it’s all in good fun, right? For example, look at this video for reference… Like words that are illegal to say:

Fall Break 2008

I went home for Fall Break and I got to see my youth group again, here are some pictures from that trip

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

Okay Okay. So I did go see High School Musical Three: The Senior Year. Now I have another confession to make. I want to go see Madagascar: Escape to Africa! Yes! I said it, and I mean it. I want to see some animals shake thier  little booties to that song “I like to move it move it” It’s kinda catchy! I think it would be well worth the six dollars for admissions and  four dollars  in snacks and drinks. I want to see this movie

For those who have n clue what I am talking about. The first Madagascar is about a zebra named Marty(played by Chris Rock) , his best friend, a lion named Alex(voiced  by Benn Stiller), a straight talking hippo named Gloria, and a hypochondriac giraffe named Melman. This foursome go off in order to see the “wild” and really end up in Madagascar. Yes the little country off the coast of Africa. The end up meting a little colony of Lemurs led by King Julian (Voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen). The foursome have to find a way to get back to New York to their beloved fans in the zoo. but can’t for some reason. Here is a clip of the foursome meeting the lemurs in a party fashion:

 

 

Anyways the sequel to this hilarious. The the foursome think they are going back to New York, thanks to the clever peguins. But little do they know is that they actually crash land on the continent of  Africa. This is where they find their roots. I love this movie I think that everyone of all ages can find humor in this movie. I  think everyone should go and see this.

Barack Obama

It’s Official! Barack Obama, senator from Illinois has made history! President Obama has beaten out John McCain from Arizona to become the 44th president of the United States! History has been made and I am so blessed that we had a part in this. This election was special  in my family. My grandmother is 83 years old. She has always told me that this election is important to her and to us! My Grandmother, was one part of a generation that fought for the right to vote. Ever since the goverment gave her the opprtunity, she has never missed an election since! The last thing I remember her saying to me before I went to cast my ballot was this

I never thought I would see the day that an African American would lead this nation.

President-Elect Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden

It’s true. She cried while I was talking to her when they offically named him the president-elect. I am so happy for her and the entire African-American community, I am so glad that they went out and voted for a person they thought was worthy to be called the president of America.

John McCain fought a well fought campaign and he was a great contender. Maybe 2012, McCain….

Anyways, January 20th 2009 everyone watch the television. History will be made again!!
