ELECTION DAY!

November 4, 2008

It’s election day! You know what that means….In a few hours we as a nation will have made history. We will either have a African-American as president, a female vice president, or a seventy-two year old man. This is history people. we have to make it worth it. My neighbor forgot to mail her absentiee ballot in and she is still talking about who she voted for…Shut it, if you didn’t vote don’t complain about the winner, you had your chance and you lost it. I voted and it feels pretty good to have done it. My obligation is done for the day and I hope that my choice was well worth it. The choice is ours chose wisely:

John McCain (Republican from Arizonia)

John McCain (Republican from Arizonia)

or

Barack Obama (from Illinois)

Barack Obama (from Illinois)

also vote because tomorrow…all of the ads will be gone!

One Week!

October 28, 2008

Alright so the final countdown has begun to November 4th and it’s killing me! No really it is killing me. Once November 5th rolls along I will be so excited to be done and over  it. The mud-slinging,the auguring and lies.. I mean it is politics!

The nighttime comics are having a field day. Yet the comic are the ones who are keeping the elcetion alive and making the young people so interested. If it wasn’t for men and women at Comedy Central, honestly many of us would have tuned out of the election. I know I would have lost interest.

Anyways, what I am trying to say is that you have one week to do all the research on the candidate of your choice and make a decsion on November fourth. But if you are like me  and you have either did one stop-voting or an absentiee ballot then you are in the money, your job is to wait until Election night to see if your candidate wins.

Going Off Topic for a Minute

October 3, 2008

If you want to see a change then you have to BE the change.

-Ghandi

So I must say that this blog is my favorite thing about being a college student. I like having to write opinions on music and movies. I really enjoy having you read them. But I have to let you know that there is one more thing in my life that is very Important to you. So Important that I have to stray away from movies and music to tell you.

That my friend is voting.

The 2008 general election is probably one of the most important election that has every been viewed in my eyes because:

  1. We (the 18-25 age group) are considered the most important age group to vote this year
  2.  Never before have we had  an election like this, I mean an African-American man  and a  seventy-two year old running for president. Also a woman running for vice president. That is Awesome!
Yet there are millions of young people who haven’t registered to vote yet!  That is not a cool fact to say. Come on y’all this is a BIG election coming up. This is Huge Election! I mean there may never be a chance to where there will be African American Man running for presidency or even a 72 year old man if that he gets elected then he will be the oldest man to be elcted into office. I am not supporting one or the other, I am just tell you…YES YOU! The Youth of America to go out to vote…Whether its for McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden…. You could even vote for yourself or Ron Paul…. JUST VOTE!
Our voice will be heard on November 4th!
If you are or not planning on voting  then you should think…and watch this video then register to vote
Until Next Time…Stay Fly
