Baby Mama.

September 14, 2008

Alright! I just finished this movie and I thought it was hilarious. I mean funny from the beginning to the end. Lorne Micheals deserves a standing ovation. Baby Mama starring and Sautrday Night Live Alum Tina Fey, and current star Amy Poehler. This movie has everything I would want to find in a Romantic Comedy. Love, Babies and lots and lots of humor.

Here’s the Trailer;

Tina Fey plays a single woman who is having a hard time getting pregnant. So she’s trying everything to have a baby, from adoption, to articfical semenation she is just trying not having a good time in the process. So she hires a “baby mama” to carry her child for nine months. That’s when Amy Poehler’s character comes in, she plays a hardcore “trailer-trash” woman with her equally trashy boyfriend are brought up and agree to have the baby. This is where hilarity insues from child prooofing rooms and gumchewing fights the laughs just keep on coming. There are lessons to be learn throughout the entire movie and everyone ends up being happy, but still everyone has a time of there lives.

Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Micheals took a huge step with this movie and made it his own. Without his genius and Tina Fey’s witty writing this movie would have bombed. So I have to say that this movie is really great and I would recomened this movie to anyone who wants a laugh. GO GET IT!

V for Vendetta

September 9, 2008
Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot…
-V
This line is basically the background to the movie V for Vendetta.Based off of a Graphic Novel, and with haunting silmilarites to Nazi Germany during World War II; The movie stars Natile Portman( Stars Wars and Garden State) as a navie, who turns in to a political activist thro the help of a masked man only named as “V”, played by Hugo Weaving(Movies).
The movie is set in the year 2015(?). The United States that was once known as a Political and Economic Powerhouse has become a war torn country with a newly revitalized civil war. But I digress the movie is set in London. Due to the fact that the United States have failed miserably, London, not wanting to fall and be a country like the U.S. they begin to form a dictorial goverment. Lead by Chancellor Adam Sutler (played by John Hurt) and his cohorts. The goverments runs everything, the television, news, and even the curfew. If you look deeper into the movie we see that the really the goverment is having a stronghold over the country to prevent an outbreak of riots.
This clip is called the Dominos fall. This clip is where the cheif detective has a hunch about whats to come. and reliazes how the entire country is involved:
The country begins by planting fake attacks and arresting innocent people for the crime the goverment has committed. Soon after, a person who had survived an “attack”, named only V, begins to cause panic among the goverment and the people. Once the country has his attention he begins to help the people understand what and why he is doing. He soons begin to recruit Evey (Nataile Portman) to be the successor of his doing.
When I first saw the movie I viewed it as a violent and gruesome movie. Once I looked at it again, I saw the undertones and what the directors and actors wanted to see. I loved every minute of the movie, and saw that some countries goverment were very corrupt and tempted  to make its people paranoid and scared but its like another quote “V” said
The people shouldn’t be afraid of their goverment. The goverment should be afraid of their people.

I would recommend the movie to anyone who thinks like this. The acting could be better, but the message  and the overtone of the entire movie is phenomenal! V for Vendetta gets an ‘A+’ in my book for its message and the fact that Natalie Portman looks pretty good bald.
